House B, Eisenach OT Stedtfeld
City villa on a sunny slope
This generous house built for a young family was built on a sunny slope in the Eisenach district of Stedtfeld in the midst of a residential development. While the constantly rising ground enabled a basement level, it also required a horizontal organisation of the facades, in order to interrupt and break down the height of the building. This was achieved via the larch wood panelling on the top floor. A fireplace in the open dining and living area, the large glass surfaces with a wonderful view into the Thuringian Forest and the warm materials create a comfortable and homely atmosphere. The house is completed by the designed exterior with its dry-stone walls, gravel paths made from natural stone and the terrace made from floor boards.
