House D, Benshausen
Lots of room for a large family
This generous detached house was built on a sloping plot in a neighbouring municipality of Zella-Mehlis. The main building with its gable roof offers plenty of room for a family of four; it is linked to an additional wing with a guest apartment - a striking low building which stands prominently over the double garage. The generous windows allow wide, sweeping views over the village in the valley and on the south side there is direct access via the terrace which faces the mountain. The facades are divided into white plastered surfaces and surfaces made from anthracite panels and larch wood boarding. The facades are provided with an interesting structure through the material mixture and the projections and recesses, furthermore the height effect of the building is reduced. Alongside the geo-thermal heat pump the fireplace also provides warmth and atmosphere. Alongside the homely bathrooms, there are eye catchers such as the oak staircase with integrated wardrobe on an exposed concrete wall.
